Office Policies
Report
At the first visit to our office, you will meet the doctors and staff and receive a tour of the office.
A thorough medical/dental history and clinical examination will be completed, and the doctor will evaluate your orthodontic needs.
This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient.
We will then discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case.
Diagnostic records are then taken, which include plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays.
About Orthodontics
Report
Orthodontic appliances can be made of metal, ceramic, or plastic.
They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth.
By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position.
This is a great time to wear braces!
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth.
You can choose brackets that are clear or metallic color.
You can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire in brackets.
For Children
Report
While there is no exact age for children to begin orthodontic treatment, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends visiting the orthodontist around age seven.
By this age, most children have a mix of baby teeth and adult teeth, making it easier for the orthodontist to diagnose and correct tooth and jaw problems sooner and without surgery.
Correct and guide the growth of your child's jaw to help the permanent teeth come in straight.

Two-Phase Treatment
Report
Two-phase orthodontic treatment is a specialized process that combines tooth straightening and physical, facial changes.
The purpose of two-phase treatment is to maximize the opportunity to accomplish the ideal healthy, functional, and aesthetic result that will remain stable throughout your child's life.
Putting off treatment can result in a need for more invasive treatment later in life that may not completely fix your child's smile.
Early treatment is most effective for achieving lasting results.
